    In the Family Bible is a parchment - an affidavit from Samuel stating that he is not in receipt of any local or military allowance other than his Chelsea pension, thus meaning I think that he had applied to the Parish of Appleby for residence and possibly poor relief, as he had only the one hand - email from Stuart Perkins dated 18/01/12
