By the death of Mr. James Murray, at the age. of 93 years. Fortitude Valley has lost one of its pioneers Mr. Murray, who was a native of Cork, Ireland, arrived in Brisbane on September 18, 1863 and settled in the Valley. In the following year he was married. and he commenced business as a bootmaker, and he continued in the same line to the time of his death. His wife died 14 years ago. He leaves three sons (Richard, the well-known canine and poultry judge), Dennis (Sydney), and Joseph (Brisbane), and four daughters, Mesdames Delahunty (Brisbane), and Bolton, Misses Nellie and Maggie (the last-named a Sister in the Adoration Order). Father Bolton is a grandson.
