  	Northern Echo 15th Mar 1879, Page: 4, Column: 3 Death From Injuries Received Eight Months Ago Stephen Place (24), a fitter, died at Gordon Gill, Evenwood, on Thursday, from the effects of injuries received as far back as July 16th, 1878. It seems that on the date mentioned Place, while attempting to pass the engine at Trushwood Colliery, where he was employed, became entangled in the crank, and was severely crushed.
