  	2nd Apr 1902 transferred to HMS Aboukir and promoted to Ordinary Seaman 10th Jun1902. On 24th Jul 1902, HMS Aboukir was moored off the island of Corfu when his record shows him a being drowned. An examination of the ships log showed an entry for 24th Jul stating simlpy that at 06:30 A I Edwards fell overboard and sank. Divers searched for a body and subseqent searches on 25th and 29th Jul failed to find his body
